Why recovery to base matters after every shot

Many club players move well to the first shuttle and then lose the rally on the second. The missing habit is usually recovery. Recovery to base does not mean returning to one perfect dot on

This is probably the habit I notice most when watching stronger club players. They never seem to admire their own shot for too long.

In doubles the recovery point changes so much depending on your partner and the formation. That is why “return to base” can be too vague unless people explain the context.
