What is the best first upgrade after a beginner racket?
If someone is improving and their first beginner racket is no longer ideal, what matters most in the next step? Would you prioritise: - weight and balance - string setup - overall forgivenes

Forgiveness probably matters more than people admit on the first upgrade. A racket that feels “advanced” is not always the one that helps most.

String choice can change the feel of a racket enough that it is worth testing before jumping straight into a more expensive frame.

I would usually choose comfort and forgiveness first, then use string and tension to fine-tune the feel. A demanding racket too early can slow improvement down.
