Found a used Astrox 88D Pro on here for 95 quid. Seller says it is about 8 months old, restrung once, good condition. Is that a fair price or should I negotiate? I am an intermediate player looking to upgrade from my Nanoflare 270.

That is a decent price. New they are about 180-200. If the frame is genuinely in good condition with no cracks or dents, 95 is fair. I would ask for close-up photos of the frame, especially around the T-joint and the top of the head.

As a coach I would say the 88D Pro might be quite demanding for an intermediate player - it is very head heavy and stiff. Have you considered the Nanoflare 700 instead? More forgiving and still a big upgrade from the 270.

Thanks both! Good point about the weight. Maybe I will try to hit with one at my club before committing. Anyone in West London have one I could test?

I have the 88D and honestly love it for doubles. The power is unreal. But Sarah is right that it takes some getting used to if you are coming from a lighter racket. Try before you buy if possible.
