Not sure if everyone has seen but Badminton England had their UK Sport funding reduced again for the next Olympic cycle. This is going to have a real impact on grassroots development and junior programmes.
As a club admin this worries me. We already struggle to get enough court time and coaching support. What are other clubs doing to fill the gap?

This is really concerning. As a coach I have seen firsthand how funding cuts affect junior development. We lose talented kids to football and cricket because we cannot offer the same level of support. We need to be creative about fundraising and sponsorship at club level.

Back in my day we just got on with it. But seriously, the sport has grown massively and needs proper investment. We should be lobbying our MPs and local councils for better access to sports halls.

My stringing business donates free restrings to junior county players. It is not much but every little helps. Maybe more businesses in the badminton community could do similar?
